HG
There is no set age when a player can have
that breakout season whereby potential turns into reality and
production. This season is witnessing the coming to age of Logan
Morrison, Marwin Gonzalez, Steven Souza and JC Ramirez. These players
have been around the majors for a few seasons but 2017 is turning
into that one season to remember.

Waiver Claims

Russell
Martin C Blue Jays –
Martin
got off to another lousy start to 2017 and then hit the DL with a few
maladies, but with hits in 9 of his last 10 games he is hitting at a
343 clip and has banged out 2 long balls and driven in 4 runs over
the span. Martin is worth adding at such a shallow position.

Logan
Morrison 1B Rays –
Morrison continues
his break out season to date with 3 homers over the last week giving
him a career high 15 long balls just inside of June. LoMo has also
knocked in 36 runs and is on pace for 27 homers and 128 RBI, making
Morrison well worth an add to your fantasy team.

Marwin
Gonzalez 1B/2B/3B/OF Astros –
Gonzalez
continues his breakout season for a Houston team with the best record
in baseball as he has now driven in two runs in four of his last six
games. The versatile infielder is batting 308 with 12 homers, 34 runs
knocked in, 25 runs scored and two stolen bases. Gonzalez is just a
few games from gaining eligibility at shortstop which only increased
his present-day value.

Devon
Travis 2B Blue Jays –
Travis
has been clicking of late at the dish with hits in 10 of his last 11
games for a suddenly hot Blue Jays team. The second sacker is 18 for
his last 47 for a blistering 382 batting average to go along with 4
homers and 15 RBI. Travis has also scored 8 runs to go with 4
multi-hit games and is worth owning and starting for owners in need
of an offensive infusion.

Steven
Souza Jr OF Rays –
Souza continues
with the best season of his career with 5 dingers and 10 RBI over the
last ten days alone. The young Ray’s righty is batting 275 with 10
homers, 33 runs driven in and 27 runs scored for the surprising Rays
of Tampa. Souza is on pace for 33 long balls and 133 runs driven in.

Melky
Cabrera OF White Sox –
Cabrera
is on a 11 for 27 run at the plate that has also seen him hit 4 home
runs while driving in 14 in 7 games. While Cabrera might not stay
this hot for an extended length of time production, at this level
just start him.

JC
Ramirez SP Angels –
Ramirez has been
on an impressive run for the Angles with 5 quality starts over seven
trips to the mound. The converted reliever has allowed just 5 earned
runs over 33.2 innings for an ERA of 1.36. Ramirez might not keep
this kind of stinginess up all year but is pitching too well to
ignore.

Adam
Wainwright SP Cardinals –
Wainwright
has rebounded after a horrid start with four straight quality starts
and just one earned run allowed over 26.2 innings for a microscopic
ERA of 0.34. The veteran righty has also allowed just 16 hits while
striking out 21 batters and with 2 starts for week 10 Wainwright is a
great add in all leagues.

Sean
Manaea SP A’s –
Manaea has come back
from the DL and had three solid starts in a row with his two best
starts covering his last two outings. The young lefty has gone seven
frames each over the last two games and allowed just 1 earned run and
7 hits and 17 punch outs.

Ty
Blach SP/RP Giants –

Blach
has been a season saver for a Giant’s team missing Madison
Bumgarner until post All-Star break. The rookie has tossed six
quality start over his last seven games including five in a row with
just 5 earned runs allowed over 37.2 frames. His last game was a
complete game white washing of the Phillies. Blach has won four games
in a row and stands at 4-2 with an ERA of 3.24, WHIP of 1.11 and
being listed as both a reliever and starter enhances his already
elevated fantasy value.
